Our Story

Owners Ken and Joe have been friends for over 30 years. Ken was actually Joe’s Rescue Swimmer instructor back in NAS Pensacola, FLA. Collectively, they have 47 years of Naval service. Ken and Joe both played vital roles during Hurricane Katrina that devastated New Orleans, LA. This was one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit the US.  Ken was in charge of all East Coast Jacksonville helicopter Rescue Swimmers who collectively rescued 1098 survivors. Joe was part of the US Naval operations in Southwest Asia and flew over 50 missions during the Tsunami that hit Indonesia, providing medical and food aid to displaced personnel. In 2018 Ken and Joe teamed up with other Rescue Swimmers to provide disaster assistance to those that were devastated by Hurricane Michael. During that storm they decided to open a Security Business to work exclusively hurricanes. Since their inception Ken and Joe’s company have worked seven hurricanes and one winter storm. Additionally they gained more clients and branching out to providing security for events, news crews, political parties, construction monitoring, and wedding venues. Their teams have the personnel that allows their clients to choose what type of security they need based on their requests.

Meet the Owners

Kenneth Smith

Kenneth L. Smith a 1984 Graduate of Palmyra High School, Palmyra NJ. After high School he moved to Morehead City NC where he met his wife of 35 years. In 1986 he joined the United States Navy and became part of the elite Helicopter Naval Aircrew and Rescue Swimmer Communities. During his time in the Navy he had 9 deployment, 2 years forward deployed naval forces Japan, sixty-one rescues, participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Caribbean Counter Narcotics Operations, Hurricane Katrina and Rita, and countless other operations. Ken Achieved the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer and held the following duties during his career: Officer In Charge, Senior Enlisted Advisor, Operations Chief, Training Chief, Weapons and Tactics Instructor, Rescue Swimmer Instructor, Helicopter Aircrewman Instructor, Small Arms Instructor, and East Coast Evaluator for all Helicopter Naval Aircrewmen and Rescue Swimmers. In 2012 Ken retired from the United States Navy.

          In May of 2013-present Ken began working for the department of defense as a government contractor teaching weapons and tactics to United States Sailors. He instructs the following courses: Security Reaction Force Basic, Security Reaction Force Advanced, and Visit Board Search Seizure. Ken is a certified instructor for close quarters combat, lethal and non-lethal weapons, defensive tactics, simmunition force on force training, and use of force and deadly force. Ken continues to enjoy training our nations finest to this day.

        In 2018 Ken began contracting for security during hurricanes Florence in North Carolina and Hurricane Michael in Florida. In 2019 he started Cerberus Dynamic Solutions with his partner. Cerberus Dynamic Solutions is an elite security company that only hires the best in the industry. Since our inception Cerberus has worked 4 more hurricanes during 2019 and 2020. Our operations to date include: executive protection, personal security details, mobile and static security, site surveys, sporting events, government facilities, VIP, private security event security, and hostile terminations and layoffs. At Cerberus we have enjoyed rapid success and look forward to what the future brings for us, our staff, and our clients.

Joe Sabia

Joseph J. Sabia Jr is a 1991 Graduate of Dunmore High School.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education, Training and Development from Southern Illinois University in 1998, a Masters in Health Administration and an MBA from Marywood University in 2016 and 2017. 

          Joe spent 21 years in the US Navy doing 8 deployments and countless operations, retiring as a Chief Petty officer. In 2005 Joe was a member of a team of Search and Rescue Swimmers that were deployed to Banda Ache Indonesia to assist in the relief effort caused by the Tsunami that hit that area. He is credited with over a hundred rescues and countless pounds of food and medical supplies delivered to stranded civilians. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Metal in 2005 for his professionalism as a Rescue Swimmer. Also in 2005 he was part of HSL-47 which is a Helicopter Squadron that was based in San Diego that was tasked to be a part of the rescue operation in Louisiana after the Category 4 Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans and the surrounding Parishes. He was credited with over fifty rescues and two high risk rescues between power lines, for his professionalism he was awarded the Naval Air Metal with a bronze star. 

        In October 2007, Joe reported to Ft Lewis Washington for training with the Army, to support detainee operation in Iraq. In January 2008 he reported to Camp Bucca Iraq as the Officer in Charge of an all Navy battalion tasked with guarding over 2,000 Islamic Extremist, receiving the Army Commendation Metal for his leadership and professionalism. 

        In 2018 Joe began contracting for security during hurricanes, to include Hurricane Michael in Florida. Shortly after the 2018 Hurricane season Joe and Ken started discussing a possible partnership together and realizing they could do a better job than the company they just contracted with. Ken and Joe decided to pool their funds together and in 2019 Ken and Joe started Cerberus Dynamic Solution. Cerberus Dynamic Solutions is an elite security company that only hires the best in the industry. Since our inception Cerberus has worked several hurricanes during 2019 and 2020. Our operations to date include: executive protection, personal security details, mobile and static security, site surveys, sporting events, government facilities, VIP, private security event security, and hostile terminations and layoffs. At Cerberus we have enjoyed rapid success and look forward to what the future brings for us, our staff, and our clients.

 Joe resides in PA with his wife Traci and two daughters.
